Volunteering

The North Texas PC Users Group (NTPCUG) is a volunteer organization dedicated to the advancement of education, development, and advancement of PC Users in the greater Dallas Area. As part of their mission, NTPCUG has formed a long-term relationship with the CFTB. They provide the volunteers that staff the CFTB Refurbishing Center.

The Center is open Monday through Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are currently seeking volunteers on Monday and Wednesday. The tasks are:

  • Pick up of donated computers
  • Security cleansing of hardware
  • Configuration of hardware and software
  • Reliability testing
  • Packing and shipping of systems

Together CFTB & NTPCUG are responsible for the collection and refurbishing over 8,200 computers for people with visual impairments.
