What is the Movie Program


The Texas Center for the Visually Challenged (TCVC) circulates descriptive movies to blind/low vision persons in the United States.

Descriptive movies are standard movies that have an audio narration inserted on the sound track. The audio narration describes the scene, action, and activities between gaps in the dialog. The intent of the description is to provide context for the movie's visual content.

Video subscription is simple. Send a check payable to the Texas Center for the Visually Challenged in the amount of $25. This is a one time fee. Review the list of videos that you are interested in receiving. Identify the videos of your choice and designate the order in which you would prefer to receive the videos.

Upon receipt of your check, we will mail you a video (one at a time). When you have finished viewing the video, place the video in the return mailer and send it back to us. Upon receipt of the returned video, we will mail you the next available movie on your list.

A couple of rules of the program .

1.  Please return the video within a couple of weeks so that others may enjoy the film.

2.  Failure to return a video will prevent other videos being sent.

3.  If the movie is damaged, please do not try to repair it. Enclose a note describing the problem.

4.  Please rewind before returning.
